2022–
My joining Dassiet was a combination of two things: a hunger for new challenges and the need to work for a cause. By this point, I’d come far enough in my career to think: “I could do that” – and by that I mean handle the whole content marketing process from strategy to execution. The sustainable plaster alternative and growth-driven culture at Dassiet gave an excellent reason why to do it. I relished the chance to build something that would make the world better.

After working at an agency for some years, I wanted to switch to an in-house role. I’d been curious about working in the tech industry for a while, too. Sofigate provided the best opportunity to both get up close and personal with tech and to try out what a role in an in-house team would feel like. Turns out, I enjoyed both very much. The role gave me the chance to both learn new things and apply what I’d already learned about agency work – which did come in handy as I was in charge of the partnership with our communications agency, for example.

2018–2021
I spent the first years of my career working in projects, which – as is the nature of projects – eventually ended. By that time I had figured out I had two professional strenghts: writing and project management. I started seeking something where I could apply both skills. This is how I learned about content marketing and Differo, a leading Finnish B2B marketing agency. I was fortunate enough to land a position at the company as a Content Specialist. During my years there, I was given more responsibilities, a few of my own clients, and a new title to match.

ELO Foundation is a Finnish non-profit organization that promotes Finnish food culture. After running the Finland eats and drinks project successfully for a few years – including writing and publishing a book with Satokausikalenteri – we were approached by ELO Foundation to continue the project under their funding. I was asked to join the Foundation as Press officer and Community manager to continue my work with research, content planning, content creation, and social media management.

Suomi syö ja juo or Finland eats and drinks was a project by a group of Finnish museums. It documented the changing food and drink culture in Finland. After my successful training period, I got the call to come and run the project – which I was more than happy to do!

This is it. This is where my passion for content creation first sparked. I was given the responsibility to blog and create social media copy for a new museum project that had just started, “Suomi syö ja juo” or Finland eats and drinks. The one-month trainee period was a part of my bachelor’s studies at the University of Jyväskylä.
